American Goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 medium yellow onions, minced

  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced

  • 8 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp paprika, (optional)

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, (or soy sauce)

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 2 cups beef broth, (or water)

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in an exceedingly giant stock pot or Dutch kitchen appliance over medium-high heat. Add the onions and sauté for 5-6 minutes, or till commencing to soften and switch clear. Add the bell pepper and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring typically. Add the garlic and cook for one minute.
  • cut back heat to medium and add the salt, pepper, and paprika to the mirepoix. Mix well.
  • Add the bottom beef to the pot. Use a picket spatula to interrupt apart the bottom meat into smaller items. Stir often and still cook till meat is bronzed.
  • Add the Italian seasoning, condiment, and ingredient. combine well to mix. Stir within the pasta sauce and diced tomatoes and convey to a simmer. Add the bay leaves, cover, and cut back heat to low. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring often to stop burning.
  • Stir within the broth and elbow macaroni, cover, and simmer for roughly quarter-hour, or till noodles ar broiled to hard. Stir each few minutes to stop the noodles from protruding to all-time low of the pot.
  • take away from heat and stir within the chopped cheese. Garnish with recent shredded parsley, if desired. Enjoy!
