Ingredients

soup:

  • 300 g stewing beef (chuck or gravy beef)
  • 300 g beef bones
  • 9 cups water
  • 1 onion, peeled and left whole
  • 1 carrot, peeled and sliced
  • 6 cloves garlic, left whole
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp whole allspice
  • 3 sprigs fresh marjoram
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 70 g piece turnip, peeled
  • Chopped parsley

dumplings:

  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled
  • ¼ cup broth
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions
