Ollie bollen - Dutch Sultana Donuts

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Plain Flour
  • 1 & 1/4 cups milk - lukewarm
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1 egg - lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup currants
  • 5 Granny Smith Apples - Peeled, Cored & Diced
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Icing Sugar for final garnish 

    Directions 

     1. USE massive pan OR BASIN (as mixture can rise considerably)

    2. ADD FLOUR & SALT

    3. build A WELL IN FLOUR

    4. ADD DRY YEAST TO WELL

    5. ADD heat MILK SLOWLY TO DISSOLVE YEAST

    6. ADD crushed EGG

    7. add MILK to create swish DOUGH.

    8. STIR IN FRUIT.

    9. cowl WITH dish towel & LEAVE TO RISE IN heat PLACE FOR a minimum of one unit of time.

    10.COOK SPOONFULS IN HOT OIL.

    11.SPRINKLE WITH powdered sugar.
