Ingredients

Cookies:

  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks or 12 Tbsp) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla or almond extract

Optional:

  • red & green sprinkles/nonpareils

Instructions

  • heat up kitchen appliance to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • within the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment cream the butter with the granulated sugar and amylum. Add vanilla. Mix well.
  • mix the salt and flour. increase the batter. combine till dough clumps along.
  • Scoop cookie dough onto silicone polymer lined baking sheets. Flatten dough balls with the lowest of a cup swaybacked in granulated sugar.
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for eight to twelve minutes till simply set. don't over-bake.
  • Whisk along the ingredients for the glaze adding further milk one tsp at a time till desired consistency. (Keep it slightly thick, a bit milk goes a protracted method.) Spoon on high of cooled cookies.
  • in real time shake sprinkles on high of wet glaze. enable glaze to harden. Store cookies in associate airtight instrumentation up to five days.
